Eve's Letter : Internalizing Identity

An integral part of our self-discovery is figuring out our identity. External forces significantly influence how we perceive ourselves. We try to fit in with what we see and what we believe we should be. We try to look for a place where we think we belong and seek validation from others. Thus, our decisions may stem from our desire to conform to the norms.

The pursuit of self-identity has internal effects, such as self-doubt and self-denial of one's being and becoming. A quest for validation of one's worth and the worries that come with it. As a result, it makes us feel lost and in search of answers. We must strive to go deeper into our inner selves to uncover our core and connection with ourselves.

More so, as we go through life, we will come across a series of crossroads that will cause us to question ourselves and who we are. It is because of the different phases that we cross paths with and face. But we can always find our balance—the position that is most compatible with our state of being and brings out our best and truest selves.
