There are a lot of skincare products and brands, making it hard to choose which ones to use based on our individual skin concerns. Many rely on descriptions and reviews, but this isn't always the best approach. Korean skincare brands are renowned for their quality and ingredients, but accessing them can be tricky.
Seek Space is a retail space providing local consumers with access to branded skincare products. It also serves as
a community and learning space where people can share and learn about skincare topics.
What distinguishes Seek Space from its counterparts? They are working together with their sister company, a spa clinic, "Simply Skin,". To guarantee high-quality products through extensive testing and approval. They tailored their product line to suit various skin types, simplifying customers' skincare routines. Customers can easily find the ideal skincare solution with the aid of their chat support. They also made detailed information available on their user-friendly website.
Impression on Seek Space Curated Skincare Set For Me
Skin type: Oily, Dull and Acne-prone Skin | Skin concerns: Oiliness, White and Black Heads
Summary: I like that the products have uncomplicated packaging and formulas.
Note: These views are derived from my personal experience with the products and my initial impressions. Results may vary and take time to see significant effects. Seek Space's website provides detailed information about the products.
The iUNIK's Centella Mild Cleansing Foam has a creamy and foamy texture that only requires a small amount for a thorough wash. It leaves the skin feeling clean and refreshed without causing dryness. It has a gentle formula that is suitable for all skin types and has a pleasant scent.
Seek Space Solution: "We've decided on iUNIK's Centella Mild Cleansing foam because it has a small percentage of BHA which helps with oiliness and prevents acne-prone skin from breaking out."
Update: I discontinued use of this product as it appeared to cause a reaction on my skin and resulted in a minor breakout. Maybe my skin is just not really used to exfoliants.
The One Thing's Propolis + Honey Extract (my favorite from the curated skincare set). The consistency is syrupy and moisturizing, but does not feel heavy. It is soothing and refreshing on the skin, and leaves a smooth layer after cleansing and exfoliating.
Seek Space Solution: "Lastly, a healing & gentle product that can be used as a toner: One Thing's Propolis. Propolis has anti-bacterial and anti-microbial properties, which makes it a great ingredient for acne-prone skin, especially those who have sensitive and easily irritated skin. Since we have two BHA products in the routine, we wanted to balance it out by adding a soothing yet still effective for acne product, so we settled on One Thing's Propolis."
Seek Space's community-driven approach to skincare products has been beneficial and reassuring.
The product selection at Seek Space amazed me because it tailored to my particular skin needs.
Seek Space certainly lives true to its branding as the absolute place for Filipina-specific skincare needs.
- How long has Seek Space been in operation?
"This year will be our 4th year."
- Are your team skin experts? Are they dermatologists or skin professionals?
"Our team is not dermatologists but we work closely with our sister company, Simply Skin which is a skin clinic with a team of dermatologists. Our skin experts are the support team, who provide free skincare consultations to whoever follows us and messages us. We all work together in testing and curating our product offerings, since we all have different skin types and concerns. That way we can see which products have worked for everyone, or only a specific skin type, or none (then we don't bring it in). We actually have a lot of rejected brands in our office."
- Are the support team who help with the skincare consultations also skin experts?
"Yes, our support team (customer service) must be skin experts, vetted by us. We make sure that they share the same philosophy. Most skin concerns such as acne, redness, sensitivity and hyperpigmentation are best approached by first repairing the barrier. That means no strong, drying, irritating products (which are usually found in most anti-acne or "rejuv" sets). This means using gentle cleansers, hydrating serums and adding ingredients that repair the skin: Centella, Snail, Ginseng, Propolis, etc. Once we've repaired the barrier. Then we can add actives that treat hyperpigmentation or acne or both, such as benzoyl peroxide, chemical exfoliants or vitamin C."
- Isn't this a local brand in the Philippines? Why the majority of your offerings are Korean brands?
"Yes, we are a local retailer. We did not have an intention of bringing in mostly Korean brands, we just wanted to bring in well formulated, affordable, sensitive skin safe and cruelty-free products. It just so happened that from our research, most of the brands that fit our criteria were from Korea as they were usually the best products for the price."
